Explaining How Attraction Between Genders Actually Works Using Flintstones

I recently got an idea that I can explain rules of attraction using characters of a rather old American cartoon, called Flintstones.

The cartoon has two guys, Fred and Barney, and two women, Wilma and Betty. Fred is both bigger, taller and louder than Barney, you can easily equate him with modern concept of Alpha man. Barney on the other hand is rather friendly and supportive guy who plays role as Fred's sidekick. He is Beta man. Just as much as Fred is more alpha than Barney, Fred's wife Wilma is sort of a alpha woman. She is taller, prettier (in theory), more assertive and argumentative compared to more gentle, nice and timid Betty.

Average female's understanding of how relationship work is based on this cartoon. It probably was the basis for the whole Alpha/Beta theory. Women think that Alpha men like Fred always go for women like Wilma, while Beta men settle for someone like Betty. I heard countless women online arguing that an Alpha man would surely go for an Alpha woman. I told them it is not true, but they refused to listen.

Reality is that men in general prefer women like Betty to women like Wilma, period.

Betty is more feminine than Wilma and that is what men like in women. Men like nice, gentle and soft women. If that was not true, then people would not watch anime and hentai. There is hardly any anime girls one could call an alpha female.

Part of Betty's appeal is also the fact that she sees herself as sort of inferior to Wilma. That prevents her from developing smug arrogance and pride, qualities men hate. Betty behaves more modestly, as more of a background character than lead. Nowadays men are obsessed with Japanese and Asian women precisely because they are modern day equivalent of Betty: soft, humble, subservient, Beta if you like. Men want women like that, not like Wilma.

In real life all Freds and Bettys never have problems in finding someone and have a relationship. Its Barneys and Wilmas who always struggle and cannot find anyone.

Internet have long exposed this truth to Barneys. Alpha/Beta theory, 666, BBC, Chad and many other internet memes have long established the fact that women prefer men like Fred to men like Barney.

Despite that however, internet to far failed to shed any light on the fact that Wilmas are as unlikable to men as Barneys are to women. Countless women still think that being more like Wilma instead of Betty will somehow make them more attractive for nefarious Alpha man, who somehow still eludes them. Decades roll and they are no wiser. Real life Alpha man always goes for Betty. That is why local Betty is long happily married, and you are still single and will remain single until you figure out the truth.

Ironically the only men who might ever be interested in Wilmas are Betas like Barney and even among them this is rare. Only guys with inferiority complex who hate themselves go for women like Wilma. See Shinji Ikari from Eva as an example of inferiority complex. So not even every Beta will be interested in Wilma. However, you can be certain that if he is not a Shinji, he will not be interested.

Many fictional stories have a disclaimer attached, that clarifies that it is a work of fiction that is not based on reality. In that regard a cartoon that depicts Stone Age as having 20th century technologies and conveniences, like cars and construction machinery, but made of stone, is certainly the last thing you should think as depicting relationship between genders as true to reality. In case you did not get it, its all just one big joke, that is of course not true. In fact, its so not true that one did not even need to clarify this fact in a disclaimer, which in retrospect certainly was a grave error of judgement. If you tell Hanna Barbera staffers that modern people actually think relationships in Flintstones are true to reality, they will laugh and say people cannot be so stupid to believe something like that.

If case you did not get it, they married Fred to Wilma not because something like this happens in real life, but only because it will be funny and entertaining for viewers to look at such an implausible couple trying to live with each other. In real life this does not happen just like things from Looney Tunes.

In conclusion, men prefer women like Betty to women like Wilma. If you look at real life, you will notice that all relationships that work are those between Freds and Bettys. Meanwhile Wilmas and Barneys are all alone and complain on the internet that no one looks their way. If a man does not look your way, then you are too much of a Wilma to interest him.
