I was thinking recently that my parents probably were more of an exception rather than a rule for their generation.
I interacted with my parents a lot and that gave me a bias towards extrapolating their qualities towards the rest of their generation.
In fact, probably majority of other people of my parents' generation I have met here and there were somewhat nice people overall.
I more or less got along with majority of my teachers either in Russia or in Australia. A few of them left some nasty aftertaste, but on the sum, they were minority.
My parents' own brothers and sisters were much better people than they were.
However, those who were problematic, somehow left me wary of their generation or older people in general. Eventually that reinforced stereotype that boomers are bad.
Retirement Issue
That still leaves out the fact that many boomers have affluent and opulent retirements in these fancy retirement homes while Millennials are struggling to afford food and accommodation.
Poverty is an acute issue for me and many Millennials. So, blaming someone for it was a natural and logical conclusion I and many others like me would arrive to.
Some of the older generations, either Gen W or late boomers or even Silent Generation of Warren Buffett, Rupert Murdoch and George Soros are responsible for that mess we have to deal with, and they have to pay for it.
